From its beginnings in 1982, Waterline Yachts has been dedicated to the design and construction of the finest round bilge steel sailing and motor yachts. A philosophy of constant improvements, evolution of design and building techniques has been the foundation on which each boat is built. All Waterline Yachts hulls are custom designed specifically for steel construction. The hull is a round bottom form without chines. The hull is plated with 1/8 – 3/16” mild steel, the keel with 3/16 – 1/4”, and at the deck/coachroof areas with 10-12 guage plate. All frame shapes are conically developed so the plate will conform naturally without stress or deformation. The bow is an extremely strong, round ‘bullnose’ cone which is much more aesthetically pleasing than the common ‘knife edge’ or pipe steel bow. A unique longitudinal framing system is used throughout so the plate is supported and reinforced along its curvature rather than tranversely, as it is done in large freighters. Transversely framed boats, when poorly built, are best remembered for their ‘hungry horse rib’ look after a few years service. The system used by Waterline Yachts is more commomnly used in the aircraft industry and relies on smaller, more numerous frames.
Tin Soldier is a fast, safe and powerful cruising yacht, ideal for a couple or a small family. Polyurethane sprayed foam insulation from new, the steel condition is excellent. The recently installed 135hp engine and Velvet drive transmission plus Aquadrive cva system now provides really smooth and sure power when conditions demand.

| Accommodation:
The interior is finished in beautiful Canadian light oak, set off by white deck heads and teak and holly soles. The 6′ 5” headroom yet further adds to the light and roomy environment. The forepeak has been split into two, giving a small double and a single cabin. Up to three sea berths can be made available in the main saloon, a very secure sea berth exists behind the galley and a comfortable double cabin aft completes the accomodation. The whole yacht is extremely well lit and when in colder climes is warmed by a Fab All diesel cabin heater. In warmer climes each Bomar hatch has it’s own bug screen. Entertainment comes from a 15” flat screen tv and a five speaker Clarion cd player c/w two cockpit speakers.

| Galley:
Located in the upper saloon. One three burner propane stove ( Force 10 ) Great stowage from drawers and cupboards. Deep double s/s sinks which have both pressurized and hand pumped water. A large top loading fridge and freezer is cooled by either one of two evaporator plates belonging to i.) a Danfoss system and ii.) a keel cooled Frigoboat system, both 12 volt.

Shower:
The yacht has one head. Hot water for the shower from the ‘Luma’water heater which provides for the whole yacht, heated from heat exchanger or via shorepower. (2010) |

One. Sealand vacu flush. 10 gallon holding tank and macerator. |
Electrics & Batteries:
House bank – total 750amps AGM (2007). Start bank – AGM 100amps, both banks monitored by a Xantrex Link 20. The batteries are ‘Longlife’. DC charging comes from; 2 x Siemen solar panels ( 75watt each), 2 x BP solar panels (125watt each) and regulated by 1 x Solar Boost 302 4i. The main engine has two alternators, one 150amp for the house bank and a 90amp which is dedicated to the engine start battery. These are in addition to the DC generator (Perkins Perama 15hp engine and 90amp alternator (rarely used). 1 x Kiss wind generator. 3 x Rule electric bilge pumps c/w alarms. |

| Mast/Rigging:
Cutter rigged. The rig was replaced in New Zealand in 2007 by Norsaid Riggers, Whangarei, plus forestays and Schaefer furling gear for both headsail and staysail ( 3100 and 2100 ). Two years ago stays and several turnbuckles were replaced. The mainsail is an in mast furler by Hood. Garhauer rigid boom vang. Walder boom brake. Spinnaker pole.

| Ground Tackle:
